SYNOPSIS
The alarming complexity of modern society poses a variety of problems leading to conflicts, frustrations, unhealthy rivalry etc. that lead to serious maladjustment among adolescent children. Globalization processes and information technology have significantly changed the way people work. The students are not mature enough to critically evaluate all the baffling situations, they are faced with. They need somebody to help in the solving of problems and avoiding tension. In these circumstances, it is essential to help and guide the youth to worthwhile channels through the introduction of guidance and counselling services on a universal scale in our educational institutions. Everyone needs someone to talk to, someone who can be non-judgemental, and someone who is confidential and is willing to listen. When it comes to student/teacher/parent, it can be any one who will give them the right suggestion. This is the basic methodology of counselling, the other process of being directive or nondirective helps in resolving some issues which the student/teacher/parent might be experiencing in school. The school based intervention provides an experience that will strengthen students'/teachers'/parents' coping abilities to counter environmental stress.
