Academic Counselling is provided to students who are experiencing difficulties with their studies. Meeting the HWT can assist students to identify their areas of difficulty and develop strategies to improve their academic performance. HWTs can provide information and support regarding coursework expectations, academic prerequisites and learning and study skills.

• Foster healthy development of children and young people in the settings of school, home, community and peer group so that they can learn, grow and make a positive contribution to society now and in the future.
• Offer the school a framework for developing health promotions initiatives in a way that supports and enhances the existing structure, programmes and practices.
• Help the school in evaluating the range of related activities it is currently involved in, identifying areas of need and setting goals for further promotion of wellbeing.
• Raise awareness of the importance of promoting health for all of us.
